这是一篇我给公司写的为什么要计划培训项目的短篇文章,主要是针对在接受培训任务时所要思考到位的一些步骤。有很多时候其他部门的经理会找到你,让你开发一个新的培训课程给他们。你对应的回答不是“好的”,而是“为什么需要这样一个培训课程?” 这篇文章的题目虽然叫“为什么需要计划培训课程”,但实际上是讨论为什么需要和一部分项目管理里所涉及到的计划。

Effective training programs that address the needs of the business objectives and improve the ROI require well-thought and well-developed plan and schedule.  Often, planning a training program includes the following steps:

Identify the training needs. Analysis your organization’s business needs will help you determine if training is the right solution to solve the problem, to improve the workforce performance, to reduce the cost, etc. You will use the analysis to communicate with sponsors and stakeholder to get their support and approval.

Identify target audience. You need to understand your target audience characters such as education level, computer skills, knowledge about the subject matter, etc to determine if they need additional sessions for prerequisite/pre-enrollment, the best training solution for them (Web-based or Blended).

Determine business objectives and learning objectives. This step is to break down the overall business objective into small and manageable pieces of learning objectives. The learning objective will determine what you will provide for your target audience.

Design the training program. In this step, you need to determine how to design the training according to the analyze (ILT, WBT, or blended), the resources for development (work with internal or external training services), how to implement (test), tracking and monitoring.

Schedule the training program You will plan dates for delivery, development, completion, thus, reducing seclude conflict.
